The Gewandhaus on what is now Augustusplatz in Leipzig has been the location for classical concerts and chamber music since 1981, performed by the internationally renowned Gewandhaus Orchestra, founded in 1781. The largest ceiling painting in Europe, ‘Song of Life’ is an impressive sight.
