The hotel is fine - if you are looking for a clean 3-star hotel with basic services near the train station and if price is not high on your priority list. I was travelling on business and booked this hotel specifically because it offered Wellness and was close to the train station. I asked at check-in if the sauna and fitness room would be open the next morning, because I wanted to use both before breakfast and my mid-day train connection. I was told they would both be open, as usual. I went to the fitness room the next morning, which was fine, had a good workout, and then went to the wellness area. Both the sauna and the steam bath were turned off and not ready to use. I went back to my room, called the reception and was told that the wellness area does not open until 18:00 unless previously requested. When I tried to explain that I specifically asked the night before and was told it would be open in the morning, the lady tried to deflect the mistake onto me as if I had misunderstood something. It is indeed possible, that I misunderstood something, but "8:00 in the morning" is difficult to misunderstand. She then offered to turn the sauna and steam bath on and they would be ready in 30 minutes. I used the time to pack my bags and do some work, so went back down to the wellness area actually a bit more than 30 minutes later. The sauna was still turned off and cold, and the steam bath was just starting to be above room temperature. I tried the steam bath for a few minutes, but then gave up because it was not nearly warm enough.
The rest of the hotel was OK, although the lower level of services (no refrigerator, no iron and ironing board, very basic pillows, etc.) does not align with the higher price charged for a night - I paid €158 when booking weeks in advance.
My impression from this visit is that these are not hoteliers trying to give visitors to Salzburg an enjoyable stay, rather business people trying to make as much money as possible off of the visitors by charging high prices and spending as little as possible.
I will be making this same trip every month or two and was hoping the H+ would become my regular hotel for these trips, but I will be looking at a different hotel next time.
