“Alte Kurpark” gardens with mineral springs and bathhouse
Right next to the H+ Hotel Bad Soden (former Ramada Hotel Bad Soden) is the Alte Kurpark, created in 1823: an English style landscaped garden with numerous exotic trees, a bathhouse dating from 1871 which today houses a library, an art gallery and a museum, as well as several mineral springs. Designed by Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the Hundertwasserhaus in Bad Soden is a residential building which incorporates the town’s first spa resort, “Haus Bockenheimer”, which was set up in 1722. The mineral springs park and Sodenia temple
This small mineral springs park was established in 1872. It contains the well-known Solbrunnen spring, originally used for salt extraction, and the Sauerbrunnen spring. Evangelical church with ancient sacristry
The Evangelical Church of Bad Soden is located right next to the mineral springs park. It was inaugurated in 1490 and has a chequered history. Baroque panel paintings dating from 1720 were discovered during restoration work in the 1990s. It is less than ten minutes’ walk from the H+ Hotel Bad Soden.
Burgberg Tower with viewing platform
The Burgberg Tower was built by the Taunus Club in 1900, reputedly on the site of a former castle, although this is unconfirmed. It sits above the Alte Kurpark on an 180-metre hill, and has a viewing platform which is open to the public on Sundays during the summer.
