Bremen Cathedral

Bremen’s Cathedral of St. Peter is the oldest church in the Hanseatic city and was built with two towers in late Gothic style. The south tower, which can be climbed and has a viewing platform, is a popular destination among visitors to the city.

Kunsthalle Bremen

The Kunsthalle Bremen, one of Germany’s most important art museums, displays renowned collections from the 14th to the 21st century and includes a famous print room. The building, which is under a preservation order, is located on Bremen’s cultural mile in the Old Town.

Getting to know Bremen’s surrounding area

If you would also like to discover Bremen’s surrounding area in more detail, be sure to make an excursion to the North Sea towns of Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven and Cuxhaven. The unspoilt landscape of the Lüneburg Heath stretches out to the south of the Hanseatic city. A visit to the university city of Oldenburg is worthwhile; so too is a trip to the deep-sea island of Heligoland, which you can make from the port of the Hanseatic city of Bremen. Around the Hanseatic city, you will find a unique unspoilt landscape that extends far inland. Take some time to discover this special part of Germany situated high in the north of the federal state of Lower Saxony.

Böttcherstraße was redesigned on old foundations in the Expressionist style by Bernard Hoetger between 1922 and 1931. It is an architectural work of art which houses, among others, museums, craft studios, shops and restaurants. It is located just behind the H+ Hotel Bremen.
