Jungfernstieg – main shopping street in the centre
On this glamorous street on the Inner Alster, which owes its name (Virgin’s Rise) to the daughters of good families who used to walk here, you’ll find everything from clothes to perfume, home accessories to technology. It takes about 30 minutes to get there on the S Bahn train from the H4 Hotel Hamburg Bergedorf.
Reeperbahn – World renowned entertainment area
Hamburg’s Reeperbahn is the city’s most famous street, and along with its side-streets, it is the first stop for any night-owl. Numerous bars, night-clubs, theatres and restaurants attract visitors from all over the world. You can get to the Reeperbahn from the H4 Hotel Hamburg Bergedorf in around 35 minutes on the S Bahn.
Hamburger Speicherstadt – a cultural monument built on oak piles
At 26 hectares, the Speicherstadt is the biggest collection of warehouses in the world. The complex, which was built around the turn of the century has canals, bridges and brick buildings and is today a UNESCO world heritage site. It takes about 35 minutes to get to the Speicherstadt from the H4 Hotel Hamburg Bergedorf on the S Bahn or bus.
“Planten un Blomen” - more that a city park
The 47 hectare site on the grounds of the former ramparts houses a number of small lakes, various themed gardens and leisure areas such as a roller skate track and trampolines. Generous lawns and plenty of seating invite you to relax. It takes about 35 minutes to get to the City Park from the H4 Hotel Hamburg Bergedorf on the S Bahn train and underground.
