Excursions into the historic town
Nuremberg is the second-largest city in Bavaria and an important location for industry and trade. Nuremberg is a significant location for trade fairs and the metropolis welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Tourists have been discovering Nuremberg for many years. The famous Christmas market, a romantic historic part of town and a whole series of cultural events makes the city a popular destination for short breaks. The H+ Hotel Nürnberg lies in the south-east of the city and is only around three kilometres away from the trade fair grounds. Our hotel is therefore particularly popular with trade fair visitors.
In the Imperial Castle, one of the most significant medieval palaces, visitors can see the ornate imperial rooms and the castle museum. Looking out from Nuremberg’s landmark, there is a magnificent view over the rooftops of the Frankish city.

At the Nuremberg Messe there are always events from different industries in the calendar. Whether you’re visiting the trade fairs professionally or privately, the nearby H+ Hotel is the ideal base for your visit to the exhibition grounds. In the hotel, we are happy to help you plan excursions to other sights in the city.
Visit the Historic Mile in the old part of town, that takes you past the most important places in the city. On Tiergärtner Square you will find Albrecht Dürer’s house and on Hauptmarkt you can see the Frauenkirche and the ‘Beautiful Fountain’. Don’t forget to spin the rings surrounding the fountain. According to folklore, it will make your wishes come true.
Take a seat in one of the cosy coffee houses and let the Nuremberg atmosphere flow around you. You can spend a wonderful day at Nuremberg Castle, the city’s great landmark. Admire the 13th century Doppelkappelle and visit the exhibition to learn about Nuremberg’s role in the late Middle Ages.
Albrecht Dürer’s house
The house in the old part of Nuremberg is where the painter Albrecht Dürer lived and worked for two decades. Today, the museum in the house tells us about the Nuremberg artist’s work and life in 1500.
The H+ Hotel serves as a base for excursions to the surrounding area
If you have a little bit of spare time, we can recommend some places to visit surrounding the city. You can reach the little town of Lauf an der Pegnitz by tram, a beautifully preserved medieval town with historic gates, water mills and a moated castle. Gößweinstein, in the centre of Frankisch Switzerland, is a well-known place of pilgrimage with an idyllic church. The castle of the same name towers majestically above the old part of town.
