Management Board under new leadership

Thomas Haas becomes Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of H-Hotels GmbH

Thomas Haas | Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of H-Hotels GmbH

Bad Arolsen, 3 January 2023 – Changes at the top: in his new position as CEO, Thomas Haas has become head of the executive board at H-Hotels GmbH with effect from 1 January 2023. H-Hotels GmbH is a Hospitality Alliance company operating as a service company for all H-Hotels. At the beginning of the year, Marijan Galic, former COO of the hotel group, left the executive board and company management. Thomas Querl and Alexander Fitz remain in the three-strong executive board. The latter, as owner of the more than 50-year-old hotel group, will in future focus particularly on strategic growth and the overall orientation of the company, including its two breweries.

Thomas Haas honed his leadership skills during a long career as CEO of the Travel Charme Hotels & Resorts AG companies and as both CEO and executive board spokesperson of Adlon Holding GmbH. The 57-year-old has extensive experience in the catering, cruise and hotel sectors. His periods as general manager at the Steigenberger Al Amira Convention Hall in Cairo and Steigenberger Verkehrsgastronomie (Tourist Catering) at Düsseldorf Airport Terminal B demonstrated his deep understanding of business development and new openings. A native of Duisburg, he is now taking on overall leadership of the approximately 60 European hotels that make up the H-Hotels GmbH portfolio.

“In Thomas Haas, H-Hotels has gained a true hospitality specialist who perfectly matches our philosophy,” says owner Alexander Fitz. “In his role as CEO, he will manage the hotel group’s day-to-day affairs and ensure we continually press on towards our goals.” Thomas Haas comments: “The move to H-Hotels GmbH gives me the opportunity to use my full range of knowledge and skills. I look forward to working with my team on the challenges presented by the pandemic, the energy crisis and other economic factors. I am particularly proud to be tackling these issues in the overall leadership role. I love the hotel industry and motivating people, so I’m enthusiastic to be starting in my new position.”
