New Manager at Hyperion Hotel Basel
Dimitris Argirakis takes over management at Messeplatz property
Basel/Bad Arolsen, July 23, 2025 – The Hyperion Hotel Basel has a new Manager, Dimitris Argirakis, since the beginning of June. The experienced hotelier brings with him an international career, strategic thinking and a clear goal. He wants to redevelop the hotel's potential.
"I was able to follow the construction of this building in 2002 - back then I worked directly opposite at the Swissôtel. Now, more than 20 years later, returning to this location and managing the Hyperion is more than just a task for me. It's a matter of the heart," says Dimitris Argirakis. "For me, a hotel is like a person: it needs character, a vision and dreams. That's exactly what I want to develop here as the new hotel manager, together with my team."
Born in Greece and a Swiss citizen, Argirakis brings more than two decades of leadership experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, he successfully managed the Airport Hotel Basel AG. As President of the Worldhotels Switzerland Association for many years, he played a leading role in shaping the strategic development of the hospitality industry across more than 19 hotels. His professional background also includes positions in international sales and event planning, including for Bestwestern International, Swissôtel Basel and Gulliver's Travel Associates.
