I was really irritated and angry to arrive on the evening to find that my room had been given away, because my booking hadn't been paid for in advance and I arrived after 6pm. I find it incredible that a company will accept my booking and send me a booking confirmation with the information about having to RE-confirm my confirmed booking (in very small print), and then send another email stating that is has all the important information but no information about having to reconfirm anything. If a booking cannot be totally confirm without a payment then you must take a payment and not call a booking confirmed. As it was I didn't have a reservation at all, I just had a hold on the rooms until H-Hotels decided that they could give the rooms away. I was with clients and thankfully there happened to be 2 rooms still, but it is highly misleading to send an email which at the top says 'confirmation' and then contradicts itself below. It's even more embarrassing because the clients that I brought are bringing a group to the hotel next summer and we were staying in the hotel so that they could see everything, and I'm disappointed that this is the way the chain treats the people who work with them.
